The
Tap
 is part of what was the
Tolly Cobbold brewery in Ipswich, the brewery was a subject for
the John
Harvey-Jones "Troubleshooter" tv programme back in the late
90s. Tolly were bought by Chelmsford brewery Ridleys who
 closed the
brewery after 256 years of brewing. Ridleys then in turn were
bought by Greene King who sold the Cliff Quay site to a property
developer and then ironically Greene King leased The Brewery Tap
